Over 600 people attended Tunbridge Wells Jobs Fair at the Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells.
Greg commented:
"Employers at the successful jobs fair we organised in Sherwood in March were keen to repeat it and so the Borough Council, Jobcentre and I put on today's fair. It went very well - the Assembly Hall Theatre had a real buzz to it. There are currently just over 500 people claiming Job Seekers Allowance in my constituency and with well over 400 jobs on offer, this event was both a great opportunity for employers to fill vacancies and for people looking for work to be given the chance to meet potential employers face-to-face. This personal approach really does seem to work well.
"The Jobs Fair also had organisations offering training, apprenticeships and voluntary opportunities, which can provide valuable experience for people seeking employment.
"After today's success, I am planning for Jobs Fairs to become a regular event in the Tunbridge Wells area."
