Greg and the Editor of The Courier, Roger Kasper, launched the next stage of the A21 dualling campaign.
Greg commented:
"My campaign to dual the A21 always had two parts: the Tonbridge to Pembury section, and Kippings Cross to Lamberhurst. At long last we got the Tonbridge to Pembury section through and work is now proceeding at a thrilling pace. Now that is underway, we can confidently turn our attention on to the Kippings Cross to Lamberhurst section.
"The A21 in Kent has been a dangerous, winding country lane – I would like it to be a modern dual carriageway as befits the main link between the M25 and the South Coast.
"The Courier paid a crucial part in the Tonbridge to Pembury dualling campaign so I'm absolutely delighted that it's continuing to show its support – it's amazing what can be achieved when the whole community works together.
"Setting up the A21 Reference Group has been fundamental to the success of the A21 campaign – working together with all the MPs and councils along the route has been incredibly effective. By speaking with one voice, we have clearly demonstrated how important this issue is to local people and, as a result, have been able to influence Government decisions."
