Greg would like to hear from anyone that has recently used the local Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
This is the repeat of a survey he carried out back in 2010 when he was alerted to the difficulties that many families were experiencing trying to get their children the help that they needed.
Greg was able to use the feedback from his original survey to argue the case for additional funding and for an urgent overhaul of the service.
Greg said:
"What I uncovered in my 2010 investigation was nothing less than scandalous. Some families were waiting up to a year and a half to get an initial appointment with CAMHS. This was completely unacceptable and I urged everyone from the Secretary of State for Health down to ensure urgent improvements were made. I have been keeping a close eye on things and I am glad to say that there has been good progress on reducing waiting times but there are still problems in some particular areas, such as specialist Autism Spectrum Disorder assessments.
"I want to get the very best service for local families which is why I am repeating this survey."
