Greg was delighted to attend the launch of Pembury's new memory cafe at the Baptist Church recently. The cafe is specifically for those living with dementia, strokes and acquired brain injuries.
The aim of the cafe is to provide a safe space in which people can thrive, helped by stimulating activities and games, music, and through finding social connections to curb feelings of isolation and loneliness. It will provide opportunities for keeping active both physically and mentally which is known to slow down memory loss and combat low mood. There is also an opportunity for their carers to have half an hour respite in Kingdom Cafe, the free cafe held in the Church building next door.
The Pembury Memory Café will be held every 3rd Friday of each month from 13:15 – 15:00 in the Pembury Baptist Church Hall.
