Greg met the site manager for contractors - Balfour Beatty - who are constructing the A21 dualling between Tonbridge and Pembury when he visited an exhibition on the project.
Greg commented:
"This exhibition demonstrates that good progress is being made on the A21 dualling. Preparatory works have already started and the main construction should begin on the ground early next year.
"As with any major road scheme, it is inevitable that there will be some disruption when the main work starts but the Highways Agency and Balfour Beatty have made a commitment to minimise this by, for example, only fully closing the carriageway at night.
"This notorious stretch of road has, for too long, blighted the lives of people in West Kent and East Sussex so it is fantastic to know that by the end of 2016 it will be transformed into a modern, safer dual carriageway."
